Detailed Itinerary

Upon your arrival in Tanzania, you will be warmly welcomed by Rough & Dusty Representative and transferred to your accommodation. Take this day to relax and acclimatize, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere and preparing for the adventures ahead.

 If time allows, explore the local area and enjoy your first taste of Tanzanian hospitality and cuisine.

For the next two days, immerse yourself in Maasai culture at the  Maasai Lodge. Experience traditional Maasai life, including their customs, dance, and crafts. Participate in various cultural activities, such as learning about medicinal plants, Maasai beadwork, and the construction of Maasai houses.

 This is a unique opportunity to gain insight into one of Africa’s most famous tribes while enjoying the serene surroundings of the lodge.

Today, journey to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its large elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. Spend the day on a thrilling safari, spotting diverse wildlife including lions, leopards, and numerous bird species. The park’s varied landscape offers spectacular views and excellent photography opportunities.

Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst nature before continuing your game drive. In the evening you will be transfed at your accomodation for dinner and overnight.

Begin the day with an extraordinary experience hunting with the Hadzabe tribe, one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer tribes in Africa. Learn about their traditional hunting techniques and survival skills. Later, visit the Datoga village, where you will observe blacksmithing and other traditional crafts. In the evening, enjoy a scenic biking excursion around Lake Eyasi, culminating in a sundowner with drinks as you watch the sun set over the lake.

Depart early for the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most remarkable wildlife destinations in the world. Descend into the crater for a game drive, where you’ll have the chance to see the Big Five in one of the world’s most unique ecosystems. After a day of exploration, head to Karatu for the night, reflecting on the incredible biodiversity and natural beauty you’ve witnessed.

Time to bid farewell to Tanzania. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some leisure time in the morning to relax or explore a bit more of Arusha. You will then be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight, carrying with you memories of an extraordinary African adventure.

This itinerary provides a well-rounded experience of Tanzania’s natural wonders, blending wildlife encounters with stunning landscapes, ensuring you leave with unforgettable memories of this remarkable journey.

Additional notes:

  • Your first day on safari requires you to pay extra attention to both our company’s recommendations and the visitor regulations for the national parks.
  • Except for in officially designated sites, it is strictly prohibited to exit the vehicle during the safari. Large fines for the company and even the loss of its license may result from violations of this provision.
  • Off-road driving is also not allowed because such actions could seriously upset the delicate ecosystem’s balance.
  • You are permitted to smoke during the safari, but you must take special care to put out and dispose of cigarette butts because they frequently start fires in the savanna.
  • Furthermore, we respectfully request that you do not place your feet on the safari cars’ seats or sit in the back of them, as this type of behavior quickly renders the vehicles unusable.
