Nyerere National Park
Nyerere National Park (formerly the Selous Game Reserve) is Tanzania’s largest protected wilderness area, covering over 30,000 km² of pristine savannahs, miombo woodlands, wetlands and the mighty Rufiji River. It was officially established as a national park in 2019 and renamed in honor of Tanzania’s first president, Julius Nyerere.
